Dr. E Patrick Bonilla is an OB-GYN with a military background and extensive clinical training, providing comprehensive women’s healthcare with a focus on minimally invasive procedures and compassionate patient care.
Originally from Honduras, Dr. Bonilla moved to Tampa, Florida, at age 12. He served as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division before transitioning into healthcare. He worked as a Radiology Technologist for over 10 years before pursuing advanced medical education. He earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Molecular Medicine from the University of South Florida and received his medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine.
Dr. Bonilla completed his OB-GYN residency at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, New York, where he gained advanced experience in obstetrics, gynecology, and high-risk pregnancy management.
Dr. Bonilla specializes in minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic surgery, in-office gynecologic procedures, and management of post-menopausal symptoms using bioidentical hormone replacement therapy.
During residency training, Dr. Bonilla developed strong expertise in managing high-risk pregnancies. His fluency in Spanish allows effective communication with diverse patient populations, supporting accessible and compassionate care.
Outside of clinical practice, Dr. Bonilla enjoys weight training, running, outdoor and water activities, barbecues, and playing poker.
